Tyra B's Music Career
Early Beginnings and First Hits
Tyra Bolling grew up singing. She was part of a local group called Kraz'e with her sister and a friend. While her group members went to college, Tyra decided to follow her dream of becoming a singer.
In 2005, Tyra B released two songs, "Country Boy" and "Still in Love". These songs became very popular. They reached the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart. This was a big achievement because she did it without help from major record companies. She also worked with the artist Chingy on a new version of "Country Boy". Another song, "Get No Ooh Wee", was released that same year. Her first album, Introducing Tyra B, was planned for 2006, but it was never officially released.
Later Songs and Albums
In 2007, Tyra B started working on her second album, Past Due. Before the album came out, she released the song "Givin' Me a Rush". This song became her biggest hit. It reached number 2 on BET's 106 & Park show. It also made it to number 36 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles chart.
In January 2008, she released another song called "Get It Poppin'". This song featured the artist Soulja Boy. The album Past Due was delayed many times and was supposed to include other famous artists like Ludacris and Trey Songz. However, this album was also not released. In 2008, she worked with 2 Pistols on a song called "Candy Coated Diamonds".
In April 2013, Tyra B shared a collection of songs called The Morning After on her official website.
More recently, she has been working on her first EP (a shorter album) called Tysexual. This EP was planned to be released on her own in 2016. The first song from this EP, "Tease", came out on March 31, 2015.
