Tyrone Hill, born on March 19, 1968, is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He also worked as an assistant coach for the National Basketball Association's Atlanta Hawks.

Before joining the NBA, Tyrone played college for four years at Xavier University. In his final year, he was amazing, scoring 20.2 points and grabbing 12.6 rebounds per game. He also shot very well, making 58.1% of his shots. The Golden State Warriors picked him as the eleventh player in the 1990 NBA draft.

Playing in the NBA

Early Career with Golden State

Tyrone Hill started his NBA journey with the Golden State Warriors. He played there for three years. He was known for his strong play and ability to get rebounds.

Time with the Cleveland Cavaliers

In the summer of 1993, Tyrone was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He quickly became a key player for them. On November 25, 1994, he had a fantastic game. He scored 25 points, got 16 rebounds, and made seven assists. This helped the Cavaliers win a close game against the Washington Bullets.

His great performance led to him being chosen for the 1995 NBA All-Star Game. This is a special game where the best players in the league play against each other. That year, he also set a team record for the Cavaliers. He shot 60.0% from the field, which was the second-best in the entire NBA!

Moving to Other Teams

After his time with the Cavaliers, Tyrone was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1997. This trade involved other famous players like Terrell Brandon and Shawn Kemp. After playing for the Bucks, he moved around to a few different teams. He played for the Philadelphia 76ers, had two more stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and finished his career with the Miami Heat.

Playing in the NBA Finals

When Tyrone played for the Philadelphia 76ers, he was their starting power forward. He teamed up with other strong players like Theo Ratliff and Dikembe Mutombo. Together, they reached the 2001 NBA Finals. They played against the Los Angeles Lakers but unfortunately lost the series.

Tyrone was often called a "lunch pail and hard hat" player. This means he was known for working very hard. He played tough defense and was excellent at getting rebounds. He always gave his best effort on the court.
