Fighter Changes
Sometimes, fighters have to pull out of a match. This can happen for different reasons. Usually, it is because of an injury. Here are some changes that happened before UFC 158:
- A fight between Alessio Sakara and Patrick Côté was planned. But Sakara had to withdraw due to health reasons.
- Sean Pierson was supposed to fight Rick Story. Pierson got injured and was replaced by Quinn Mulhern.
- Rory MacDonald was set to fight Carlos Condit. MacDonald got a neck injury. So, Condit fought Johny Hendricks instead.
- Jake Ellenberger then fought Nate Marquardt. Marquardt was a veteran fighter returning to the UFC.
- Mitch Gagnon was scheduled to fight Issei Tamura. Gagnon got injured. T.J. Dillashaw stepped in to replace him.
- Johnny Eduardo was going to fight Yves Jabouin. Eduardo had a shoulder injury. Jabouin was then removed from the event. They could not find a new opponent for him quickly.
