Sean Pierson, born on March 10, 1976, is a retired Canadian mixed martial artist. He was a professional fighter from 1999 to 2013. During his career, he competed in major organizations like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Bellator.

Sean Pierson's Early Life and Sports
Sean Pierson started wrestling when he was in fourth grade. He continued wrestling all through college at Brock University. He was even part of the Canadian National Team! He competed in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling.
Pierson won many national championships in Greco-Roman wrestling. He also won a Canadian university national freestyle championship. Besides wrestling, Pierson also trained in judo when he was in high school.
Mixed Martial Arts Career
Sean Pierson had an exciting career in mixed martial arts. He fought in some of the biggest events in the sport.
Fighting in Bellator
Pierson was supposed to join a big tournament in Bellator. This tournament was for welterweight fighters. However, an injury stopped him from competing. His first fight there would have been against Dan Hornbuckle at Bellator 15.
Competing in the UFC
UFC Debut and Early Fights
Sean Pierson joined the UFC in 2010. He stepped in at the last minute for a fight at UFC 124. His opponent was Matthew Riddle. Pierson won this fight by a unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed he won. The UFC president, Dana White, even called it the "Fight of the Night."
In his next fight at UFC 129, Pierson faced Jake Ellenberger. Pierson lost this fight in the first round by knockout. He was hit by a strong counter punch. Later, at UFC 141, Pierson fought Dong Hyun Kim. Kim won the fight by unanimous decision.
Victories and Challenges
Pierson bounced back with a win against Jake Hecht at UFC on FX 3. He won by unanimous decision. He then fought Lance Benoist at UFC 152. Pierson won this fight by unanimous decision as well. Benoist was a replacement for Dan Miller, who had to pull out due to a family emergency.
Pierson was set to fight Rick Story at UFC 158. But an injury forced Pierson out of that fight. His last fight was at UFC 161 against Kenny Robertson. Pierson won this fight by majority decision, even though he was hurt in the third round.
Personal Life
Sean Pierson lives in Whitchurch-Stouffville, which is north of Toronto. He is married and has two sons. Pierson used to work for the Toronto police force. He temporarily left his job because they did not allow him to be a UFC fighter and work for them at the same time.
Pierson also helps with an anti-bullying program in the Toronto area. He works with other UFC fighters like Sam Stout and Mark Hominick to help kids.
Outside of fighting, Pierson is also a very good video game player. He has won tournaments and even finished third in a big tournament at Canada's Wonderland.
