Sean Ian Pierson, born on March 10, 1976, is a retired Canadian mixed martial artist. He was a professional fighter from 1999 to 2013. During his career, he competed in major organizations like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Bellator.

Early Life and Training
Sean Pierson started wrestling when he was in fourth grade. He continued wrestling all through college at Brock University. He was even part of the Canadian National Team. He competed in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling styles.
Pierson won many national championships in Greco-Roman wrestling. He also won a Canadian university national freestyle championship. In high school, he also trained in judo.
Mixed Martial Arts Career
Sean Pierson had an exciting career in mixed martial arts. He fought in some of the biggest events.
Bellator Fighting Championships
Pierson was supposed to join Bellator's Second Season Welterweight Tournament. However, an injury stopped him from competing. His first fight was planned against Dan Hornbuckle at Bellator 15.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Pierson joined the UFC in 2010. He stepped in for an injured fighter at UFC 124.
First UFC Fight
Pierson's first UFC fight was against Matthew Riddle. He won the fight by a unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed he won. The fight was very exciting. Dana White, the UFC president, even called it the "Fight of the Night."
Later UFC Fights
- In April 2011, Pierson fought Jake Ellenberger at UFC 129. He lost this fight in the first round.
- In December 2011, he faced Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 141. Pierson lost this fight by unanimous decision.
- In June 2012, Pierson defeated Jake Hecht at UFC on FX: Johnson vs. McCall 2. He won by unanimous decision.
- In September 2012, Pierson was set to fight Dan Miller. Miller had to pull out because his son needed a kidney transplant. Lance Benoist stepped in to fight Pierson instead. Pierson won this fight by unanimous decision.
- In March 2013, Pierson was scheduled to fight Rick Story. An injury forced Pierson out of this fight.
- In June 2013, Pierson fought Kenny Robertson at UFC 161. He won the fight by majority decision. This means most of the judges agreed he won.
Life Outside the Ring
Sean Pierson lives in Whitchurch-Stouffville, a town north of Toronto. He is married and has two sons.
Pierson used to work for the Toronto police force. However, there was a disagreement about him also being a UFC fighter. The police force did not want him to have another job as a fighter.
Pierson is also involved in helping his community. He has worked with other UFC fighters like Sam Stout and Mark Hominick. They are part of a program in Toronto that helps stop bullying.
Besides fighting, Pierson is also a very good video game player. He has won tournaments and placed third in a competition at Canada's Wonderland.
