Fernand Yves Jabouin, born on May 30, 1979, is a retired mixed martial artist. He is from both Haiti and Canada. Yves used to compete in the Bantamweight division. He was part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Before joining the UFC, he also fought in the WEC. He was a professional fighter from 2001 to 2015.

About Yves Jabouin
Yves Jabouin was born in Haiti. When he was young, he moved to Canada with his mother and two siblings. They left Haiti because of war. From a young age, Yves was interested in martial arts. His father was a big fan of the famous martial artist Chuck Norris. Young Yves loved watching Kung Fu movies at the local theater. Besides fighting, Yves also went to college. He earned a degree in Graphic Design. He even worked as an animator for TV commercials.

Starting His Career
Yves Jabouin began his professional fighting career in 2001. He mostly fought in Canada. He had a great start, winning 14 of his 18 fights. Eleven of these wins were by knockout. His impressive record caught the attention of the WEC.
Fighting in the WEC
Yves made his WEC debut on October 10, 2009. He fought against Raphael Assunção at WEC 43. He lost this fight by a close decision.
He was supposed to fight Mark Hominick in January 2010. However, Yves got injured and couldn't compete. They eventually fought on June 20, 2010, at WEC 49. Yves lost this fight in the second round. But their fight was so exciting that it won the Fight of the Night award!
Yves then bounced back with a win. He defeated Brandon Visher on November 11, 2010, at WEC 52. He won this fight by a unanimous decision.
Joining the UFC
In October 2010, the WEC joined with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. This meant all WEC fighters, including Yves, moved to the UFC.
Yves's first UFC fight was on April 30, 2011. He fought Pablo Garza at UFC 129. He lost this fight by a submission in the first round.
He quickly got back to winning. On August 27, 2011, he defeated Ian Loveland at UFC 134. He won by a split decision.
Yves continued his winning streak at UFC 140. On December 10, 2011, he beat Walel Watson in a very close fight. He won by split decision.
In May 2012, Yves was set to fight Mike Easton. But Easton got injured. So, Yves fought Jeff Hougland instead. Yves showed off his amazing striking skills. He knocked Hougland down several times. He won the fight by a unanimous decision.
His next fight was tough. On September 29, 2012, he was knocked out by Brad Pickett. This happened in the first round at UFC on Fuel TV 5.
Yves was scheduled to fight Johnny Eduardo in March 2013. But Eduardo had to pull out due to a shoulder injury. A new opponent couldn't be found in time, so Yves was also removed from the event.
He returned to the octagon on June 15, 2013. He faced Dustin Pague at UFC 161. It was a back-and-forth battle. Yves won by a split decision.
At UFC on Fox 10, Yves fought Eddie Wineland. He lost this fight in the second round.
On June 14, 2014, Yves fought Mike Easton at UFC 174. He won this fight by a unanimous decision.
His last two fights were in 2015. On April 25, 2015, he lost to Thomas Almeida at UFC 186. He was defeated in the first round. His final fight was on August 23, 2015, against Felipe Arantes at UFC Fight Night 74. Yves lost this fight by submission in the first round. After this, he retired from fighting.
