Club History
How Pergolettese Started
Football in Crema began in 1932. That's when a team called U.S. Pergolettese was formed. It was started in Pergoletto, a part of the town.
In 1974, the club changed its name to U.S. Pergocrema 1932.
During the Serie C2 2007–08 season, the team did very well. They finished first in their group and moved up to a higher league called Lega Pro Prima Divisione for the 2008–09 season. In that year, Pergocrema got their best-ever result, finishing 11th.
In the 2009-10 Lega Pro Season, Pergocrema finished 15th. This meant they had to play in special games called relegation playoffs to avoid moving down a league. They played against Pro Patria. The games ended in a tie, but because Pergocrema had finished higher in the league, they stayed up!
The Club's New Beginning
On June 20, 2012, the Pergocrema club had big money problems. A court in Crema said the club was bankrupt, which means it ran out of money. So, the team had to stop playing.
But the story didn't end there! At the end of the 2011–12 Serie D season, another team called Pizzighettone moved to Crema. They changed their name to U.S. Pergolettese 1932. This was done to keep the football history of the old U.S. Pergocrema 1932 alive.
In 2013, Pergolettese was promoted to the 2013–14 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. The club became a professional team again in 2019. This happened after they won the Serie D/C title. They beat strong teams like Modena and Reggio Audace. Their coach at the time was Matteo Contini, who used to play in Italy's top league, Serie A.
Team Colors and Badge
The team's main colors are yellow and blue. The club's badge is a yellow shield. It has a blue stripe going across it, and the word "Pergolettese" is written inside the stripe.
Fans and Rivalries
The fans of Pergolettese are friends with the fans of Piacenza. This is because both groups of fans don't get along with the fans from Cremona, especially those of Cremonese. Pergolettese fans also have friendships with supporters of Benevento, Nuorese, and the Belgian team Union Saint-Gilloise from Brussels.
Pergolettese plays in a local derby (a game between two teams from the same area) against AC Crema. They even share the same stadium! They also have strong rivalries with teams like Mantova, Pro Patria, Trento, Fanfulla, Sant'Angelo, and Lecco.
