The Ukrainian National Union (Ukrainian: Український Національний Союз) is a group in Ukraine that believes strongly in their nation. It started as a political group in 2009 and later became a political party in 2013. A political party is a group of people who share similar ideas about how a country should be run and work to get their members elected to government.

History of the Ukrainian National Union
The Ukrainian National Union was created in 2009 by Oleg Goltvyansky and some people who supported his ideas. On July 15, 2012, Vitaly Krivosheev became the new leader of the group.
Becoming a Political Party
On April 27, 2013, the leaders of the Ukrainian National Union announced that they wanted to form a political party. This meant they would officially try to get their members elected to help govern the country.
Involvement in Major Events
The party was one of the groups that helped organize the "Euromaidan" protests. These were big protests in Ukraine that happened in 2013 and 2014. Members of the Ukrainian National Union have also taken part in the war in Eastern Ukraine.
