In the mid-1960s, she sang with the jazz musician Finn Ziegler. This led to a big opportunity for her.
Eurovision Song Contest
In 1966, Ulla Pia was asked to enter a song in the Danish Eurovision selection. This contest is called Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. She sang a song titled "Stop - mens legen er go'" which means "Stop, While the Going's Good."

Ulla Pia then went to the eleventh Eurovision Song Contest. This event took place on March 5 in Luxembourg City. She performed her song "Stop – mens legen er go'".
