Umut's Club Journey
Umut Bulut played for many different football clubs throughout his career. He started playing professionally in 2000 and moved between several teams, scoring many goals along the way.
Playing for Trabzonspor
In 2006, Umut Bulut joined Trabzonspor. He was given the special number 10 jersey, which is often worn by important players. His first game for the club was on August 5, 2006. The very next week, he scored his first goal for Trabzonspor.
Umut was a great scorer for Trabzonspor. He scored 88 goals in 197 official games. He also helped the team win the 2010 Turkish Super Cup and the 2009–10 Turkish Cup. In the 2010 Turkish Cup Final, he even scored a goal against their rivals Fenerbahçe, helping Trabzonspor win 3–1.
Time with Toulouse FC
On June 28, 2011, Umut Bulut moved to France to play for Toulouse FC. He played his first game in the French league, Ligue 1, on August 6, 2011. Just one week later, he scored his first goal for Toulouse. He also scored a winning goal in another game. He even scored two goals against a strong team, Lyon, including one amazing shot from far away!
Adventures with Galatasaray
In 2012, Umut Bulut joined Galatasaray on a loan. He had an amazing start, scoring two goals in his very first game against their rivals Fenerbahçe in the 2012 Turkish Super Cup. Galatasaray won that game 3–2, and Umut was named the best player of the match!
He continued to score many goals for Galatasaray. In his first four weeks of the season, he scored five league goals, which was a new record for the club at that time. He helped Galatasaray win many games and even scored important goals in tough matches.
Because he played so well, Galatasaray decided to sign Umut permanently. He officially joined the club on a long-term deal. He played for Galatasaray until 2016, helping them win many championships.
Later Career Clubs
After Galatasaray, Umut Bulut joined Kayserispor in 2016. He played there for three years, continuing to score goals for his team.
Later, he moved to Yeni Malatyaspor in 2019. He then played for Eyüpspor starting in 2021. His last club was Sarıyer, which he joined in 2023. He played for Sarıyer until he retired from football in July 2024.
Playing for Turkey
Umut Bulut also had a successful career playing for the Turkish national team. His first game for Turkey was in 2007 against Brazil.
He scored his first two goals for Turkey in a friendly game against Portugal in 2012. One of his most memorable international games was in 2013 when he scored three goals (a hat-trick!) against Andorra in a World Cup qualifying match, helping Turkey win 5–0.

Personal Life
Umut Bulut faced a very sad event in his life. In March 2016, his father, Kemal, passed away in a tragic incident in Ankara, shortly after watching Umut play a match.
