Una Película de Huevos is a fun animated adventure movie from Mexico. Its name means A Movie of Eggs in Spanish. It came out in 2006 and features the voices of famous actors like Bruno Bichir, Angélica Vale, and Carlos Espejel.

This film was a huge hit! It earned over 142 million pesos (about $7.6 million US dollars). It even became one of the highest-grossing Mexican films ever made. In 2007, it won an important award called the Ariel Award for 'Best Animated Feature Film'.

Story of the Eggs

The movie is about a brave little egg named Toto. He doesn't want to end up as breakfast! Instead, he dreams of becoming a proud rooster. So, Toto starts an exciting journey to find his way back to the farms.

Along the way, he meets some funny friends. There's Willy, a noisy egg who becomes Toto's loyal companion. They also team up with Stripe, a crazy piece of bacon. Together, this unlikely trio faces many challenges on their quest to reach the farm and help Toto achieve his dream.

Meet the Characters!

Here are some of the main characters you'll meet in Una Película de Huevos:

  • Bruno Bichir as Toto: He's a young chicken egg, only three days old, who was taken from his mom. Toto can be a bit stubborn, but he's also very kind and caring. He even has feathers that look like hair!
  • Carlos Espejel as Willy: This four-day-old chicken egg is a sergeant in the egg army. He used to be a lookout in the egg carton. Willy wants to be a rooster like Toto, but then he meets Bibi and decides to follow his own path. He wears a green army helmet and a belt.
  • Angélica Vale as Bibi: Bibi is a circus egg who performs at a carnival. She's a bit spoiled but very charming. She has long, curly brown hair and wears a blue cape with star decorations. Bibi has two brothers, Bebe and Bubi.
  • Miguel Guerrero as Tocino (Bacon): Toto and Willy find Tocino on the kitchen floor. He's a useful friend because he's stretchy and greasy! Tocino doesn't speak, but he uses movements to show what he's thinking. He doesn't wear clothes, but his feet look like shoes.
  • Rodolfo Riva Palacio Alatriste as Coco: Coco is a crocodile egg and the leader of a group of reptile eggs. His dad sent him to stop the chicken eggs, but Coco mostly dreams of becoming a famous actor. He has big arms and a cool Elvis Presley-style haircut. Rodolfo also voices Iguano, a large but not-so-smart iguana egg, and other characters like Cuache (a rat) and Hue Bond.
  • Gabriel Riva Palacio Alatriste as Confi: Confi is a Cascarón egg, which is a type of confetti egg. He's like a spiritual guide for other eggs and leads them in funny speeches. He runs a night club behind the amusement park. Confi is painted in bright colors. Gabriel also voices Serp, a quick-tempered rattlesnake egg, and Torti, a slow tortoise egg with strong jaws.
  • Humberto Vélez as Huevo de chocolate (Chocolate egg) a.k.a. Huevay "El Segundo": This chocolate egg got lost in a sofa for a whole year! He wears what looks like golden pants.
  • Blas García as Huevo Líder (Egg Leader): He's the general of the kitchen's egg army. He loves to recruit new eggs, even if they're not interested. He has trouble hearing and speaks with a German accent. He's the only egg with a mustache and wears a general's army hat.
  • Enzo Fortuny as Bebe and Mario Filio as Bubi: These are Bibi's brothers. They perform a juggling act with her. Even though they look like kids, they are very mature and love their sister deeply. Bebe is a big egg with a red suit and a mohawk, while Bubi is a blond egg with a blue suit and a star.
  • Lourdes Morán as Mamá Gallina (Mother Hen): Toto's sweet and brave mother hen. She leaves her barn to find her son. She wears a blue handkerchief around her neck.

More Egg Adventures!

Because Una Película de Huevos was so popular, it led to more movies!

  • The first sequel, Otra Película de Huevos y un Pollo (Another Movie of Eggs and a Chicken), came out in 2009.
  • The second sequel, Un gallo con muchos huevos (A Rooster with Many Eggs), was released in 2015. Both of these movies were also big hits at the box office.

There are even more movies planned! A fourth film, Un rescate de huevitos (A Rescue of Little Eggs), is set to be released in 2021. A fifth movie, Un gallo congelado (A Frozen Rooster), is planned for 2022. These upcoming films will use computer animation.

Play the Game!

A video game based on the movie was released on April 19, 2010. It's called Un Juego de Huevos (A Game of Eggs). This game was made just for the Zeebo system, which was a special gaming platform available in Mexico and Brazil.
