Carl Barks created Scrooge, who has since starred in many comic books, television shows, movies, and video games. Since 1952, Scrooge McDuck has had his own comic book series, titled Uncle Scrooge.

Scrooge McDuck is famous for being the richest duck in the world. He loves his money very much and keeps it in a giant building called the Money Bin. He is known for his adventures and for often being a bit grumpy, but he cares deeply for his family.

Scrooge's Early Life

Scrooge was born in Scotland in 1867. His family, the Clan McDuck, was very poor. Young Scrooge worked hard to earn his first money. He decided to travel to the United States to find his fortune.

Becoming the Richest Duck

In the United States, Scrooge found gold and worked hard to become rich. By 1902, he moved to Duckburg and built his famous Money Bin on Killmotor Hill. Over the next years, Scrooge traveled all over the world. He learned about many different cultures and had countless adventures. By 1930, he had become the richest duck on Earth.

Family and Adventures

In 1942, Scrooge decided to retire and bought a large house called the Manor McDuck. In 1947, he invited his nephew Donald Duck and his three great-nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, to spend Christmas with him. This was the start of many exciting adventures together.

Scrooge and his family often go on quests to find lost treasures. They also have to protect Scrooge's money from villains. A group of criminals called the Beagle Boys are always trying to steal his fortune. Scrooge is very clever and usually manages to outsmart them.
