Unionville is a small place in Frederick County, Maryland, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government like a city or town. Instead, the county government takes care of things like roads and services.
Unionville is located about halfway between two larger towns: Frederick and Westminster. You can find it just east of Libertytown, right off Maryland Route 26, which is also known as Liberty Road.

On July 4, 1956, Unionville experienced an incredible amount of rain. In just one minute, 1.23 inches of rain fell. That's more than an inch of rain in 60 seconds! This is the most rainfall ever recorded in such a short time anywhere in the world. Imagine how quickly the puddles would have formed!

The Pearre-Metcalfe House is a historic home located on Albaugh Road, just outside the main part of Unionville.
