Universal is a small town located in Clinton Township, Vermillion County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. In 2020, about 283 people lived there.

History of Universal
Universal was started in 1911. It began as a place where people lived and worked near coal mines. The town got its name from the "Universal Mines" that were close by. A post office has been open in Universal since 1912.
Geography of Universal
Universal is located in the southern part of Vermillion County. It is just west of Indiana State Road 63. The town covers a total area of about 0.93 square kilometers (0.36 square miles). All of this area is land.
