Discovering Unterperfuss's Location
Unterperfuss is nestled in the beautiful Inn Valley. It sits across from the town of Zirl. This small community covers an area of just two square kilometers. That's about 0.77 square miles!
The Melach River flows into the Inn River right here. It comes from the Sellrain Valley. These rivers help shape the village's natural borders.
A Look at Unterperfuss's Past
Unterperfuss became its own official tax municipality in 1780. This means it started managing its own taxes. Records from that time show there were eleven houses. Ten of these were farms. These farms were connected to the Stams monastery.
The village also had two mills and a sawmill. These were important for daily life. Forests were owned by the community. They helped protect the land along the Inn and Melach rivers. Some of the family names living there back then were Härtnagl, Mayr, and Wolf.
