Upper Demerara-Berbice is a special area, also known as Region 10, located right in the middle of Guyana. It's a very important part of the country. The main city in this region is Linden, which is the second biggest city in all of Guyana!
This region covers a large area of about 17,040 square kilometers (that's about 6,580 square miles). In 2012, around 39,452 people called Upper Demerara-Berbice their home.
Where is Upper Demerara-Berbice Located?
Upper Demerara-Berbice shares its borders with several other regions of Guyana. To the north, it touches Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, Demerara-Mahaica, and Mahaica-Berbice. To the east, you'll find the East Berbice-Corentyne region. And to the west, it borders Potaro-Siparuni and Cuyuni-Mazaruni.
