Uppvidinge Municipality (Uppvidinge kommun) is a local area in southern Sweden. It is part of Kronoberg County. The main town, where the local government is located, is called Åseda.

This municipality was created in 1971. Before that, it was made up of smaller areas like Lenhovda, Nottebäck, Åseda, and Älghult. These areas joined together to form the Uppvidinge Municipality we know today. The name Uppvidinge comes from an old type of district called a "hundred."

Even though it has a small population, the municipality has a special saying: "In a Small Municipality Man Becomes Large." This means that even in a smaller place, people can achieve great things.

Most of Uppvidinge Municipality is covered by forests, more than 80% of its land! This fits with how many people imagine the province of Småland, which is known for its dark forests. The name Uppvidinge itself means something like "forest on a hill." The municipality's coat of arms, which is like its official symbol, shows a plant. This symbol comes from a document from 1568.
