Värnamo Municipality (Värnamo kommun) is an area in southern Sweden. It is located in Jönköping County. The main town and administrative center of this area is Värnamo.
The municipality was created in 1971. Before that, Värnamo was a city on its own, formed in 1920. In 1971, the city of Värnamo joined together with 14 smaller towns and villages nearby. This created the larger municipality we know today.
