Västerhejde is a small town, also called a locality, found on the Swedish island of Gotland. It is located in the middle-west part of Gotland, right along the coast.
Västerhejde is also the name for a larger traditional area, known as a socken. This area is the same as the administrative Västerhejde District, which was created on January 1, 2016.

Exploring Västerhejde's Location
Västerhejde is the name of the town that grew up around the old medieval Västerhejde Church. Sometimes, this area is called Västerhejde kyrkby, which means "Västerhejde church village".
Important Places in Västerhejde
Within the Västerhejde socken (the larger area), you can find several interesting places. These include the town of Vibble, and the smaller areas of Bjärs and Nygårds. Nygårds is known for its fishing village, which has a large manor house and a sheep farm nearby.
The Amazing Högklint Cliff
Another special place in Västerhejde is Högklint. This is a small settlement right by the coast. Högklint is also the name of a very tall cliff. This cliff drops almost straight down for about 48 meters (157 feet) into the sea. You can find several small caves hidden in the steep side of the cliff.
