VBirds was a cool British virtual girl group created in 2002. A virtual band means the members are animated characters, not real people. A team of designers, producers, and musicians brought them to life.
The VBirds also had their own animated TV show. It aired on Cartoon Network in the UK. The show had six short episodes, each about one minute long. These mini-episodes played between other TV shows.
The band released only one song, "Virtuality," in early 2003. It was quite popular and reached number 21 on the UK music charts. Later, a spin-off series called VBirds: Perfect aired in 2003. It taught viewers dance moves. Even though the show was a good way to keep kids watching, no more songs were released.
The VBirds had an interesting backstory. They were exiled from their home, Planet V. The ruler, King He:Lin, banished them because they refused to work on the planet's "dance farms." They were shrunk down and sent to Earth in a special dance machine. King He:Lin wanted humans to play with them forever. He warned them they would never escape their dance machine prison!
The VBirds even appeared on the TV show SMTV Live. During their interview, Bling and Wow said their music was similar to other famous girl groups. They mentioned bands like Destiny's Child, Mis-Teeq, and the Sugababes.

Meet the VBirds Members
- Boom is a very energetic and clever member of the group. She can sometimes get a bit grumpy. Boom has a special power: she can create colorful, pulsing balls by blowing a kiss into her hand. She often uses this power to decorate things.
- Wow is the most grown-up VBird. Her powers help calm everyone around her. This makes her great at stopping arguments and keeping the group peaceful.
- Bling is the most stylish VBird. She can instantly create new outfits for the group using her powers. This is super helpful for their performances. But she also likes to use this ability to playfully annoy the other girls in her free time.
- D:Lin is the youngest VBird. She stands out with her green skin. D:Lin loves being a DJ when the group isn't performing. She can also use records as throwing weapons if they ever need to defend themselves!
The Hit Song: Virtuality
"Virtuality" was the only song released by the VBirds. It also came with another song called "Dance With Me." "Dance With Me" used parts of the song "Think (About It)" by Lyn Collins. It also included some vocals from "Virtuality."
A music video for "Virtuality" was also made. You could find it on some versions of the CD single.
