The Sugababes were a famous British girl group. They started in 1998 in London, England. The group was formed by Ron Tom when the members were still in school.

Over the years, the Sugababes had many hit songs. They had six number one songs in the United Kingdom. Their music was also popular in other countries. The group's members changed three times. This happened because of differences between the band members.

The Story of Sugababes

How It All Began

The first members of the Sugababes were Siobhan Donaghy, Mutya Buena, and Keisha Buchanan. Their first album was called One Touch. It came out in 2000.

In 2001, Siobhan Donaghy left the group. Heidi Range joined the band to replace her. Heidi used to be a member of another group called Atomic Kitten.

New Members and Big Hits

With Heidi, the Sugababes released their second album in 2002. It was called Angels With Dirty Faces. This album was very popular and reached number 2 in the UK. Their third album, Three, came out in 2003.

In 2004, the Sugababes sang on the song "Do They Know It's Christmas?". This song was part of Band Aid 20. It raised money for charity and became a number one hit.

Their fourth album, Taller in More Ways, was released in October 2005. This album was their first to reach number one in the UK. It was also liked in places like Australia, Ireland, and Switzerland.

More Changes and Success

In December 2005, Mutya Buena left the group. Amelle Berrabah joined the Sugababes in the same month. They re-recorded a song called "Follow Me Home" with Amelle.

In 2006, the Sugababes were named the most successful all-female group of the 21st century in the UK. They released a collection of their hit songs called Overloaded: The Singles Collection. This album also had two new songs.

Their fifth album, Change, came out in 2007. It also reached number one and sold many copies in the UK. In 2008, they released Catfights and Spotlights. Their seventh album, Sweet 7, was released in 2010.

The End of an Era

In 2011, the Sugababes released two more albums. These were The Best of the Bs and The Complete Bs. Both albums were collections of songs from their past.

The group took a break in 2012. The members wanted to work on their own music. In 2013, Jade Ewen said that the Sugababes had officially stopped making music in 2011.

The original members, Mutya, Keisha, and Siobhan, later formed a new band. They called themselves Mutya Keisha Siobhan.

Awards and Recognition

During their time together, the Sugababes were nominated for many awards. They were nominated for forty-one awards in total. They won 14 of these awards, showing how popular and talented they were.
