Later, she received a scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School (SYTS). This is a famous school for young performers. While at SYTS, Jade appeared in several TV shows. In 2005, Jade joined a girl group called Trinity Stone. They signed a record deal but broke up in 2007 before releasing an album. Later, Jade recorded a digital song called "Got You" in 2008. She also helped write songs for other artists, like "A Little Bit" for Booty Luv.
In 2009, Jade was chosen to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. She sang the song "It's My Time," which was written by the famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. He even played the piano for her during the performance! Jade finished in fifth place at Eurovision. This was the highest placing for the UK since 2002, until Sam Ryder came second in 2022. After Eurovision, Jade began working on her own album.
Joining the Sugababes

In September 2009, Jade joined the popular girl group Sugababes. She replaced one of the original members, Keisha Buchanan. Her solo song, "My Man", was released around this time. However, she focused on her new role with the Sugababes.
Jade met the other Sugababes members just two days before filming their music video for "About a Girl". This song reached number eight in the UK charts. The group's album, Sweet 7, came out in 2010 and reached number 14. Another single with Jade's vocals, "Wear My Kiss", peaked at number 7.
