Heidi India Partakis (born Heidi India Range on May 23, 1983) is an English singer. She is best known for being a member of the popular girl group Sugababes.
Before joining Sugababes, she was one of the first members of another girl group, Atomic Kitten, from 1998 to 1999. However, she left before the group released any official songs. In 2001, Range joined the Sugababes, replacing an original member. With Heidi, the group became very successful. They had six number-one hit singles and two number-one albums in the United Kingdom. The group stopped making music together in 2011.
After her time with the Sugababes, Heidi appeared on reality TV shows like Dancing on Ice in 2012 and Celebrity MasterChef in 2013. She has also acted in stage shows, including Happy Days in 2014 and The War of the Worlds in 2016.

Music Career
1997–1999: Starting with Atomic Kitten
In 1997, a young Heidi Range tried out for a spot in the group Scooch but was told she was too young. She then joined a new girl group called Atomic Kitten. The group was started by Andy McCluskey, the lead singer of the band OMD.
Heidi recorded several demo songs with the group for their first album. But in 1999, after about eight months, she decided to leave Atomic Kitten to pursue a solo career. She was replaced by Natasha Hamilton.
2001–2011: Success with Sugababes
In 2001, Heidi was invited to join the Sugababes. With Heidi as a new member, the group signed with Island Records. Their first single with Heidi, "Freak like Me", went straight to number one in the UK. Their next song, "Round Round", also hit the number-one spot.
Because of these hit singles, their second album, Angels with Dirty Faces, was a huge success. It reached number two on the UK album charts and sold almost a million copies in the UK alone. It is still their best-selling album. The group released more hit songs from the album, including "Stronger" and "Shape".
More Hits and Line-up Changes
After a break, the Sugababes returned in 2005 with the song "Push the Button". It was number one in the UK for three weeks and a major hit across Europe and Australia. Their album Taller in More Ways became their first number-one album in the UK. At one point, they were number one on the singles, album, and download charts all at the same time.
In December 2005, founding member Mutya Buena left the group and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah. The group re-recorded some songs from Taller in More Ways with Amelle's voice for a new version of the album.
In 2009, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized their song "About You Now" for being the first song by a British pop group to top the charts based on downloads alone.
Final Years of the Group
The Sugababes went to the United States to work on their seventh album, Sweet 7, and signed with Jay-Z's record label, Roc Nation. The first single, "Get ...", was a big hit in the UK.
In September 2009, there was another line-up change. Keisha Buchanan, the last original member, left the group. Her spot was filled by Jade Ewen, who had represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest that year. The new line-up quickly filmed a music video for their next single, "About a Girl", which also became a top ten hit.
Their album Sweet 7 was released in March 2010. After the album's release, the group was dropped by Roc Nation. In 2011, the Sugababes released one more song, "Freedom", as a free download. Soon after, the group took a long break that became permanent.
2012–present: Solo Projects
Since the Sugababes stopped performing, Heidi has focused on other projects. In 2012, she competed on the TV show Dancing on Ice. The next year, she was a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef.
Heidi also moved into acting. In 2014, she starred as Pinky Tuscadero in a UK tour of the musical Happy Days. In 2016, she appeared in the popular stage show The War of the Worlds. In 2023, she was part of the UK jury for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Personal Life
Heidi was once engaged to TV and radio presenter Dave Berry. They were together for eight years before separating in 2011.
On September 3, 2016, Heidi married Alex Partakis in Florence, Italy. They have two daughters, born in January 2018 and August 2021.
