Vahid Amiri (Persian: وحید امیری; born on April 2, 1988) is a professional footballer from Iran. He mainly plays as a winger for the Persian Gulf Pro League club Persepolis. He has also played for the Iran national team.

Amiri represented Iran in big tournaments like the 2015 and 2019 AFC Asian Cups. He also played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is known for playing on the left side of the field, but he can play in many attacking positions.

Vahid Amiri's Football Journey

Vahid Amiri started his football career with a team called Datis Lorestan. After that, he played for Gahar Zagros. In 2011, he joined Naft Masjed Soleyman and played there for two seasons.

Playing for Naft Tehran

In May 2013, Vahid Amiri signed a two-year contract with Naft Tehran. He scored his first goal for Naft Tehran on August 6, 2013. This goal helped his team get a 1–1 draw against Damash Gilan.

He also scored his first goal in the Asian Champions League on April 7, 2015. This was in an away game where Naft Tehran won 3–0 against the Saudi club Al-Shabab. Later, on September 16, 2015, Amiri scored in a game against Al-Ahli Dubai in the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League. His team lost that game 2–1.

Time with Persepolis

Amiri joined Persepolis in the summer of 2016. He signed a two-year contract with them. During his first time at Persepolis, he helped the team win the league title twice. In 2018, he was even named the Iranian Footballer of the Year. He played 74 games for Persepolis and scored 9 goals.

Playing for Trabzonspor

On July 21, 2018, Vahid Amiri moved to Turkey. He signed a two-year contract with a big Turkish club called Trabzonspor.

On July 13, 2019, Amiri returned to Persepolis. He signed another two-year contract with the club, which had just won the Persian Gulf Pro League championship. When he came back, he said he was very happy to be at Persepolis again. He mentioned that he had other offers from Iranian teams but chose to return to what he called "my home." He was given the number 19 jersey for the team.

Playing for Iran's National Team

Vahid Amiri was chosen to be part of Iran's squad for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. This happened on December 30, 2014, by coach Carlos Queiroz. He played his first game for the national team in a friendly match against Iraq on January 4, 2015.

Amiri scored his first goal for Iran in a 2–0 victory against Chile. This was an exciting moment for him and the team. In May 2018, he was selected for Iran's team that would play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Vahid Amiri was born in a small village called Darreh-ye Badam. This village is located in Khorramabad, which is in Lorestan Province. He has a degree in law. As of January 2016, he was also studying for his master's degree in Physical Education.
