Vahid Amiri (Persian: وحید امیری; born 2 April 1988) is an Iranian professional footballer. He mostly plays as a winger for the Persian Gulf Pro League club Persepolis. He has also played for the Iran national team.

Amiri has represented Iran in big tournaments. These include the 2015 and 2019 AFC Asian Cups. He also played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He usually plays on the left side of the field. However, he can play in many attacking positions.

Vahid Amiri's Club Career

Vahid Amiri started his football journey with Datis Lorestan. After that, he played for Gahar Zagros. He then spent two seasons playing for Naft Masjed Soleyman.

Playing for Naft Tehran

In May 2013, Amiri joined Naft Tehran on a two-year contract. He scored his first goal for Naft on 6 August 2013. This was in a 1–1 draw against Damash Gilan.

He scored his first goal in the Asian Champions League on 7 April 2015. This was in a 3–0 away win against the Saudi club Al-Shabab. Amiri also scored on 16 September 2015. This goal was in a 2–1 loss to Al-Ahli Dubai. This match was in the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League.

Playing for Persepolis

Amiri joined Persepolis in the summer of 2016. He signed a two-year contract with them. He helped Persepolis win two league titles. In 2018, he was named the Iranian Footballer of the Year. He played 74 games for Persepolis and scored 9 goals during this time.

Playing for Trabzonspor

On 21 July 2018, Amiri agreed to a two-year contract. He joined the big Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Returning to Persepolis

On 13 July 2019, Amiri signed another two-year contract. He returned to Persian Gulf Pro League champions Persepolis. When he came back, he said:

I am very happy to return to Persepolis once again. I had several offers from the other Iranian teams but I opted to return to my home.

He was given the club's number 19 jersey again.

Vahid Amiri's International Career

Vahid Amiri was chosen for the Iran's squad. This was for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. He was called up on 30 December 2014 by coach Carlos Queiroz.

He played his first game for Iran in a friendly match. This was against Iraq on 4 January 2015. He missed a very important penalty kick in a game against Iraq. This led to Iran being knocked out of the Asian Cup 2015.

Amiri scored his first goal for his country in a 2–0 victory. This game was against Chile. In May 2018, he was chosen for Iran's team. This was the team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Vahid Amiri's Personal Life

Vahid Amiri was born in a small village called Darreh-ye Badam. This village is in Khorramabad, Lorestan Province. He has a degree in law. As of January 2016, he was studying for his master's degree. His master's degree is in Physical Education.
