The Valderaduey is a river located in central Spain. It flows into the Douro river, which is a much larger river. The Valderaduey joins the Douro on its right side. A long time ago, in the year 949, an earthquake actually changed where the river flowed!
Where the Valderaduey River Flows
The Valderaduey river starts in the mountains of León Province. It begins on a mountain called Riocamba, in a place known as Renedo de Valderaduey.
From its start, the river flows south. It passes through several towns and villages. Some of these include Sahagún, Becilla de Valderaduey, Castroponce, San Martín de Valderaduey, Cañizo, and Villalpando.
Finally, the Valderaduey river flows into the right bank of the Duero river. This happens in the area of Zamora.
Rivers That Join the Valderaduey
Many smaller rivers and streams flow into the Valderaduey. These are called tributaries. The main rivers that join the Valderaduey are the Río Del Hoyo, Río Pequeno, Río Viejo, Río Bustillo, Río Navajos, Río Sequillo
, and Río Salado.See also
