Valente Rodriguez grew up in Hidalgo County, Texas. His family is of Mexican descent. He went to college at the University of Texas-Pan American.
In 1988, Valente moved to Los Angeles, California. There, he got his first main role in the movie Salsa. He has appeared in many other films like Impulse, Twenty Bucks, and Ed.
