Valeria Ciavatta, born on January 16, 1959, is a politician from San Marino. She served as a captain-regent of San Marino. This means she was one of the two leaders of the country.

First Term as Captain Regent
Ms. Ciavatta first served as a Captain Regent with Giovanni Lonfernini. This was from October 2003 to March 2004. The Captains Regent are chosen for a six-month term.
Becoming a Minister
Later, on July 27, 2006, she became the Interior Minister of San Marino. As Interior Minister, she was in charge of things like public safety and elections.
Her Political Journey
For many years, Valeria Ciavatta was part of the Christian Democratic Party. In the early 1990s, she helped start a new political group. This group was called the Popular Alliance.
