Valerie Campbell-Harding (May 3, 1932 – October 5, 2006) was a very creative artist. She was known for her amazing work with textiles. Valerie designed fabrics and wrote 24 books about her art.

About Valerie Campbell-Harding
Valerie was born in Canada on May 3, 1932. She later moved to England and passed away there on October 5, 2006. She loved to experiment with different ways to create art using fabric and threads.
In 1996, Valerie started a group called the Computer Textile Design Group. This group focused on using computers to design textiles. She also edited their magazine, Design IT, and wrote many articles for it.
Valerie taught art to students all over the world. She traveled to places like Britain, America, and Australia. Her classes covered many topics, including embroidery, beading, and using computers for design. She taught from 1980 until her death.

Valerie led weekend workshops at many adult education colleges. She taught about color, design, and different embroidery techniques. She also gave courses for the Embroiderers' Guild across the UK.

Valerie's Work as an Editor
Besides writing her own books, Valerie also edited several publications. She helped other artists share their knowledge.
She was the editor of The World of Embroidery from 1988 to 1996. She also edited the Beadworkers Guild Journal and the Computer Textile Design Group Magazine Design-IT.
Valerie was featured in interviews in various magazines. These included Workbox and The World of Embroidery. She also wrote many articles for textile and craft magazines.

Valerie was a consultant for embroidery books at B T Batsford. She helped guide the creation of many art books.
She appeared on BBC TV and ITV shows. She also made a video about bead embroidery with Pam Watts in 1995.
