Valets Lake is a freshwater lake located in Quebec, Canada. It sits across two areas called Valets and Girouard Townships, near the town of Senneterre. This lake is part of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region.

The main activities around Valets Lake are forestry and tourism. Forestry means managing forests for wood. Tourism includes fun activities like fishing or boating. The lake's surface usually freezes over from early December until the end of April. This makes it a great spot for winter sports!

A forest road runs north between the Capousacataca River and Valets Lake. This road helps people get to the lake and its surrounding areas.

Exploring Valets Lake

Valets Lake is quite long, stretching about 18.5 kilometres (11.5 mi). It has two parts in the north and a long bay that reaches south for about 9.4 kilometres (5.8 mi). The lake runs mostly parallel to the Capousacataca River on its west side.

How Valets Lake Gets Its Water

Valets Lake gets its water from several sources. On its east side, water flows in from the outlets of Adjutor and Robitaille Lakes. On the west side, water comes from Bird Lake. Other creeks, like BC Creek and Kâkiyâckowok stream, also feed the lake. These creeks drain water from many smaller lakes, including Tuillé, Wiashgamic, and Joe.

Where the Lake Flows Out

The water from Valets Lake flows out from a bay in the northeast. This water then joins the Capousacataca River. The Capousacataca River later meets the Mégiscane River.

Valets Lake's mouth is about 7.4 kilometres (4.6 mi) north of where the Capousacataca River and Mégiscane River meet. It is also about 64.7 kilometres (40.2 mi) northeast of Senneterre.
