Valley Shepherd Creamery began in 2005. It was started by a person named Eran Wajswol. The farm covers about 120 acres of land in Long Valley, New Jersey.
What Kinds of Cheese Do They Make?
The creamery makes about 20 different kinds of cheese! Some of these include:
- Dutch farmstead cheese
- Alpine cheese
- A Basque shepherd cheese, which is like Idiazábal cheese
- Farmer cheese
- Ricotta
- And even a blue cheese
Where Does the Milk Come From?
The milk used for the cheeses comes from different animals. Most of the milk comes from sheep that live right on the farm. Some cheeses are also made using a mix of sheep's milk and milk from local cows.
Visiting the Farm
Valley Shepherd Creamery has a shop right on the farm where you can buy their cheeses. They also offer fun tours! On these tours, you can see:
