College Basketball Career
Venson Hamilton went to East Rutherford High School. After high school, he played college basketball at the University of Nebraska. He was part of the Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball team.
Setting Records at Nebraska
Hamilton set some amazing records at his college.
- He holds the school record for the most blocked shots, with 241 blocks.
- He also has the record for the most rebounds, grabbing 1,080 rebounds. This was almost 300 more than the old record!
- He is ninth on the school's all-time scoring list. He scored 1,416 points during his college career.
- He was a very accurate shooter, making 52.7% of his shots.
- He also helped his teammates by making 164 assists.
- Plus, he was great at stealing the ball, with 186 steals.
Awards and Achievements
In his final year of college, Venson Hamilton was named the Big 12 Player of the Year. This is a big award for college basketball players. That same year, he set a new school record for rebounds in a single season, with 335 rebounds. He was also chosen for the Big 12 conference's All-Defensive Team, showing how good he was at playing defense.
Professional Basketball Career
Venson Hamilton was chosen by the Houston Rockets in the 1999 NBA draft. He was the 50th player picked overall.
Playing in Europe and Beyond
After being drafted, Hamilton played for many teams around the world.

Success with Real Madrid
From 2005 to 2009, Venson Hamilton played for one of the biggest teams in Spain, Real Madrid. With Real Madrid, he achieved great success:
