Vereslav (Viacheslav) Eingorn, born on November 23, 1956, in Odesa, Ukraine, is a famous Ukrainian chess grandmaster. He is also a skilled coach and a writer. He was part of the Ukrainian team that won a gold medal at the 2001 World Team Chess Championship.

Vereslav Eingorn's Chess Journey

Vereslav Eingorn was born in Odesa. He showed his talent early by winning the Odesa city championship twice, in 1977 and 1979. He played in several USSR Chess Championships, which were big tournaments in the Soviet Union. His best result was finishing third in 1984.

In 1986, he tied for first place at the 2nd Cappelle-la-Grande open tournament. Vereslav also represented Ukraine in the Chess Olympiads in 1992, 2000, and 2002. At the 2000 Olympiad, his team won a bronze medal.

Big Tournaments and Challenges

In 1987, Vereslav played in the Interzonal tournament in Zagreb. This tournament was a step towards becoming the World Chess Champion. However, he did not qualify for the next stage, called the Candidates Matches.

He also took part in the FIDE World Chess Championship 2002. In this championship, players compete in knockout rounds. Vereslav was knocked out in the first round.

Vereslav Eingorn has won several other chess tournaments. These include wins in Minsk in 1983, Bor in 1986, and Moscow in 1986. These victories show his consistent skill in chess.
