Verlina Reynolds-Jackson is an American politician from the Democratic Party. She works to make New Jersey a better place for everyone. She represents the 15th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly. Before this, she was a member of the Trenton City Council. She started her role in the Assembly on February 15, 2018.
Since 2022, she has been the Constituent Outreach Chair. This means she helps connect people in her district with their government.

About Verlina Reynolds-Jackson
Her Early Life and Education
Verlina Reynolds-Jackson was born on July 26, 1971. She grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. She went to Trenton Central High School. After high school, she studied at Trenton State College. This school is now called The College of New Jersey. She earned a bachelor's degree in sociology there. Later, she got her master's degree in administration from Central Michigan University.
Before becoming an Assemblywoman, Ms. Reynolds-Jackson worked for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. She also worked for the Mercer County Board of Social Services. In 2010, she was first elected to the Trenton City Council. She served two terms, helping her community in Trenton.
Her Work in the New Jersey Assembly
Verlina Reynolds-Jackson became an Assemblywoman when Elizabeth Maher Muoio left the position. Ms. Muoio was chosen to be the Treasurer of New Jersey. On February 10, 2018, Ms. Reynolds-Jackson was chosen by local Democratic leaders. She then took office on February 15, 2018.
In 2020, she helped create an important law. This law, Assembly Bill 4454, requires schools to teach about diversity and inclusion. This means students from kindergarten to twelfth grade learn about different cultures and backgrounds.
In 2024, during a discussion about salaries for lawmakers, another Assemblyman mentioned seeing nice cars. Ms. Reynolds-Jackson shared that she drives a 2007 Toyota Camry. This showed she understands the everyday lives of people.
