Vernetta Lopez is not just a radio DJ and actress. She also does voice-overs for characters and hosts events. She has even worked as a wedding planner and was once the president of an organization called "One Singapore".

Acting Roles

Vernetta's first time on TV was for a music show called NiteRage. She became very famous in the 1990s when she starred in Singapore's first family sitcom, Under One Roof. Her role as Denise helped the show get record-breaking ratings. This show truly launched her professional acting career.

Since then, Vernetta has acted in many different TV shows and movies. She has played all sorts of characters, from daughters to mothers, and from doctors to even patients in a mental hospital.

She also played Dr. Kelly Chan, a gynaecologist, in a Singaporean medical drama called First Touch. This show looked at how her character's personal life and work life often clashed. Vernetta has won awards for being a Favorite Radio DJ many times over the years. Currently, she hosts the weekday morning show called Live with Mike & Vernetta on Gold 90.5. You can hear her and Mike Kasem from 6 AM to 10 AM.

Personal Life

In 1998, Vernetta Lopez married Mark Richmond, who was also a radio DJ. They later separated in 2005.

Vernetta then married Wayne Gladwin, a British software engineer, on July 25, 2009.

Vernetta Lopez won her first Asian Television Awards in 2000. She received the award for Best Performance by an Actress (Comedy) for her role as Denise in Under One Roof. She won her second ATV award in 2003 for her drama role in Ceciliation, earning the award for Best Performance by an Actress (Drama).

At the 2016 Asian Television Awards, Vernetta was nominated twice in the same category: Best Comedy Performance by an Actor/Actress. These nominations were for her roles in Run Rachael Run and Rojak. Although she didn't win the main award in 2016, she was given the special recognition of 'Highly Commended' for her performance in Run Rachael Run.
