Veronica Bonilla is a children's writer, illustrator, and graphic designer from Ecuador. She was born on June 11, 1962, in Quito. She started publishing children's books in 2012.

Veronica Bonilla's Career
Veronica Bonilla became a children's author in 2012. She used her experience as a teacher and a mother of three daughters. She also used her knowledge from being a consultant for quality standards.
From 2012 to 2013, her company, Vebodi Editorial, published 37 fully illustrated books. This was a big achievement for a single author in Ecuador.
The Platanario Series
One of her popular book series is about a character named Platanario. Platanario is an alien kid who falls in love with our planet. In these stories, Veronica teaches kids important ideas. These include working as a team, planning, and solving problems. The series also celebrates the culture of Ecuador. It shows how different people can work together.
Promoting Reading and Creativity
As a graphic designer, Veronica created a character called Lecturin. Lecturin helps encourage children to read. You can even find a free digital magazine for kids on her official website.
Veronica has created eleven main characters for her books. These include Platanario, naniBOT, Pepeko, Juanuka, Pichusa, Pedroko, Hadani, Mar-Tin, Vagotón, Tontón, and Lecturin.

La Rana Juliana was also published as an e-book in English. Its title is July the Frog.
