Veronica Webb (born February 25, 1965) is an American model, actress, writer, and TV personality. She made history as the first African-American model to get a big contract with a makeup company. Veronica has been on the covers of famous magazines like Vogue, Essence, and Elle. She has also walked the runway for big fashion brands such as Victoria's Secret and Chanel.

Early Life and Dreams

Veronica Webb was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her mom was a retired nurse, and her dad was an electrician. Growing up, Veronica loved looking at fashion magazines. She admired the models and women who worked in the fashion world.

She also enjoyed reading comic books. For a while, she dreamed of becoming an animator, someone who creates cartoons.

After finishing high school in 1983, Veronica moved to New York City. She planned to study design there. But then, something exciting happened. A makeup artist saw her in a store. This led to Veronica starting a new path as a model.

Her Amazing Career

In New York, Veronica Webb quickly became a successful model. She became a spokesperson for Revlon, a major cosmetics company. This was a huge step, as she was the first black supermodel to get such an important contract.

Veronica also became an actress. In 1991, she appeared in her first movie, Jungle Fever. She also acted in other films like Someone Like You... and Malcolm X. On TV, she had roles in shows such as Damon and Just Shoot Me!.

As a runway model, Veronica showed off clothes from famous designers. These included Isaac Mizrahi and Karl Lagerfeld. She was even named one of American Vogue's best-dressed people three times!

Veronica Webb learned to speak French while living in Paris. She lived with a famous designer named Azzedine Alaia.

Veronica cares a lot about helping others. She works with several charities. One of them is LIFEBeat, which helps people affected by AIDS. She also supports the RPM Nautical Foundation. This group works to find and bring up old shipwrecks for museums. Her ex-husband, George Robb, is involved in this work.
