Victor Khryapa (born August 3, 1982) is a former professional basketball player from Russia. He spent most of his career playing for CSKA Moscow. This team is part of the VTB United League.
Victor was a very flexible player, known as a power forward or small forward. He stands at 6 feet 9 inches tall. He was chosen three times for the All-EuroLeague Team. In 2010, he won the EuroLeague Best Defender award.
He was also a key player for the Russian national basketball team. He helped them win the gold medal at the EuroBasket 2007. He also earned two bronze medals. These were at the EuroBasket 2011 and the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Victor Khryapa's Basketball Journey
Victor Khryapa started his professional basketball career in Europe. He played for different teams before joining a big one.
Playing in Europe (First Time)
Khryapa played for a team called Khimik Engels in 1999–2000. After that, he played for Avtodor Saratov from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, he joined CSKA Moscow. With CSKA Moscow, he won two Russian Championships. These wins were in 2003 and 2004.
Time in the NBA
In 2004, Victor Khryapa was chosen in the 2004 NBA draft. He was the 22nd player picked overall. The New Jersey Nets picked him first. Then, they traded him to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Later, in 2006, he was traded again. This time, he went to the Chicago Bulls. He was traded along with another player, Tyrus Thomas.
In February 2008, Victor left the Chicago Bulls. He was not getting much playing time. He decided to return to Russia.
Return to Europe (Second Time)
Victor Khryapa went back to his old team, CSKA Moscow. He signed a long contract with them in February 2008.
With CSKA Moscow, he continued to win many titles. He won the Russian Championship several times. He also won the VTB United League Championship in 2010. Most importantly, he helped CSKA win the EuroLeague Championship in 2008.
In May 2014, he was named to the All-EuroLeague Second Team. This was his second time getting this honor.
Injuries and Comebacks
Victor had some tough times with injuries. He missed the first half of the 2014–15 season. This was because of an ankle injury. He even had surgery in December 2014. This kept him off the court for three months.
He returned to play in March 2015. His team, CSKA Moscow, made it to the EuroLeague Final Four. However, they lost a close game in the semifinals. Even so, they won the third-place game.
Victor signed with CSKA again in July 2015. He stayed with the club for another season. In June 2016, CSKA decided to keep him for one more year. He finally left CSKA on June 26, 2018. This ended his second long period with the team.
Playing for His Country
Victor Khryapa was a very important player for the Russian national basketball team.
- He won a gold medal at the EuroBasket 2007.
- He also won a bronze medal at the EuroBasket 2011.
- Victor played for Russia in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
- He also played in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Russia won another bronze medal there.
- He was supposed to play in the 2010 FIBA World Championship. But he could not play because of an injury.

Victor Khryapa's older brother, Nikolai Khryapa, was also a professional basketball player.
