Victor Bernard King, born on July 16, 1957, is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played college basketball for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Later, he played in professional leagues like the Continental Basketball Association and the Philippine Basketball Association.
Victor King's College Basketball Journey
Victor King played college basketball for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs from 1975 to 1979. He was a starting player for all four years he was there. During his last two seasons, he was chosen as an All-Southland Conference player. This means he was recognized as one of the best players in his college sports conference.
In the 1979 NBA draft, Victor King was picked by the Los Angeles Lakers. He was the 39th player chosen overall. However, he never played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) itself.
Playing Professional Basketball
After college, Victor King played for the Maine Lumberjacks. This team was part of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) during the 1980–81 season. The CBA was another professional basketball league in the United States.
In 1981, King moved to play for the Toyota Super Diesels. This team played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in the Philippines. He played alongside another player drafted in 1979, Andrew Fields. During the 1981 season, Victor King and his team won the Open Conference championship. King also played basketball professionally in Europe for a time.
