Exploring Villa Raffo's Past
How Did Villa Raffo Get Its Name?
In the 1800s, a large piece of land in this area belonged to Bernardino Manzanares. After he passed away, his family sold the land. It was bought by two people named Ezequiel and Pedro Raffo. The town was later named "Villa Raffo" in their honor.
Building the Town: Railways and Workers
The Raffo family decided to divide the land into smaller sections. A railway company, called the Buenos Aires and Pacific Railway, bought one of these sections. They wanted to build homes there for their workers. This helped the town of Villa Raffo grow and develop.
