About Virgin Drinks
Virgin Drinks started in 1994 in the United Kingdom. The company worked with another company called Cott. Their main goal was to create and sell Virgin Cola. This was the very first drink made by the Virgin Group.
The Start of Virgin Cola
Virgin Cola was launched in early 1994. It became quite popular. Because of this success, Virgin Drinks decided to make another drink. They then started to produce Virgin Vodka.
Other Drinks They Tried
Virgin Drinks also tried to sell other types of drinks. These included energy drinks, similar to brands like Red Bull. They came in different flavors, such as Lemon and Lime. Some were for daytime, and others were for nighttime. However, these drinks were only available for a short time.
Why Virgin Drinks Ended
After about thirteen years, the popularity of Virgin Drinks began to drop. Big companies like Coca-Cola made special deals. These deals meant their drinks were sold only in large stores and restaurants. This made it hard for Virgin Cola to compete. Virgin products were then only sold in a few supermarkets and local shops.
The Virgin Group realized they could not keep up with their rivals. In 2007, Virgin Drinks sold the rights to Virgin Cola. They sold them to a company called Silver Spring Soft Drinks. Virgin Vodka was stopped because no one wanted to buy the brand. Virgin Drinks officially closed down in 2007.
