Virginio Rognoni (born August 5, 1924 – died September 20, 2022) was an important Italian politician. He was a key member of the Christian Democracy party. Virginio Rognoni's Early Life and Education
Virginio Rognoni was born in Corsico, Italy, on August 5, 1924. He was a bright student. He attended the famous Collegio Ghislieri in Pavia.
In November 1947, he earned a law degree from the University of Pavia. He continued his studies abroad. Between 1949 and 1950, he studied at Yale University in the United States. After his studies, he worked as a lawyer.
His Journey in Italian Politics
Rognoni started his political career in his hometown. From 1960 to 1964, he was a city councilor in Pavia. He then served as deputy mayor from 1964 to 1967. During this time, he also worked as a councilor for town planning.
He then moved into national politics. In 1968, he was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies. This is like being a member of parliament. He served for seven terms, which means he was elected seven times in a row. His time in the Chamber of Deputies lasted until 1994.
