Viscount biscuits are a popular treat from the United Kingdom. They are a type of biscuit (which is like a cookie in some countries). Each Viscount biscuit has a round base. On top of this base is a creamy filling. This filling usually tastes like mint. The whole biscuit is then covered in a layer of milk chocolate. These tasty biscuits are made by a company called Burton's Foods.
What Are Viscount Biscuits?
Viscount biscuits are known for their special design. They have a crunchy biscuit base. This base is topped with a smooth, creamy layer. The most common flavor for this cream is mint. After the cream, the biscuit is covered in a delicious milk chocolate coating. This makes them a favorite snack for many people.
Flavors and Wrappers
Viscount biscuits come in shiny foil wrappers. The color of the wrapper tells you what flavor is inside. Mint-flavored biscuits are wrapped in green foil. There used to be an orange-flavored version. These were wrapped in orange foil, but they are no longer sold. The word Viscount is always printed clearly on the wrapper. For a while, there was also a double chocolate Viscount biscuit. This version had a chocolate cream filling. It came in a purple foil wrapper.
Changes Over Time
Viscount biscuits have changed a bit over the years. In April 2005, their look was updated. This redesign made them seem more fancy for adults. As part of this change, Burton's also launched mini Viscount biscuits. These smaller biscuits came in a tub. The tubs were similar to those used for ice cream. However, the colorful wrappers for the main flavors stayed the same.
In November 2010, Burton's introduced a new product. They launched Cadbury Festives. These biscuits are very similar to Viscount biscuits. The main difference is that they use Cadbury Chocolate for the coating. This makes them part of the Cadbury Christmas Biscuits range.
Burton's Foods confirmed that they stopped making the orange-flavor Viscount biscuits. This means you can only find the mint flavor now.
