Vivian de Sola Pinto (born December 9, 1895 – died July 27, 1969) was a British poet, a person who studies and writes about literature, and a historian. He was a top expert on the writer D. H. Lawrence. Pinto also helped defend a famous book, Lady Chatterley's Lover, in a court case in 1960. He argued for its importance in literature.

Pinto was born and grew up in Hampstead, England. He became very good friends with Siegfried Sassoon. They fought together in World War I in France. Pinto was Sassoon's second-in-command during the war. He even appears in Sassoon's books, like Memoirs of an Infantry Officer, under the name "Velmore." These books were based on Sassoon's real life.

After the war, Pinto studied at the University of Oxford. Later, he became a Professor in the English Department at the University of Nottingham. He taught there from 1938 until 1961. He was also known for translating the poetry of France Prešeren into the English language. Vivian de Sola Pinto was the great-grandson of Rabbi David Aaron de Sola.
