Volvo V70 facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Volvo V70 is a popular car that was made by the Swedish company Volvo. It's a type of car called a "station wagon," which means it has a longer back area for more storage space, like for sports gear or luggage. Volvo produced the V70 for many years, from 1996 all the way to 2016. During this time, it went through three main design changes, which car companies call "generations."

There was also a special version of the V70 called the XC70. This car was designed to be more like an off-road vehicle, meaning it could handle rougher roads and different types of terrain better than a regular car.

The V70 took the place of an older Volvo model called the 850. For its first generation (from 1996 to 2000), the V70 also had a sedan version, which is a car with a separate trunk, called the S70. When the second generation of the V70 came out (from 2000 to 2007), its sedan partner was the S60. And for the third generation (from 2006 to 2016), the sedan version was known as the S80.

After many years of being a favorite, the Volvo V70 was eventually replaced by a newer model, the V90, in 2016.
