Beale was involved with the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. He was also a key person in the "Rabid Puppies" discussion about the Hugo Awards for science fiction. He helped start Castalia House, a publishing company.

Early Life and Music

Theodore Beale grew up in Minnesota. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1990.

From 1992 to 1994, Beale was a member of a band called Psykosonik.

Video Game Development

In 1993, Beale and Andrew Lunstad started a video game company called Fenris Wolf. They were working on two games, Rebel Moon Revolution and Traveler. The company closed in 1999 after a problem with their publisher.

In 1999, Beale and Lunstad released a game called The War in Heaven. It was a Biblical video game.

Technology

Beale created a special computer mouse called the WarMouse. It had 18 buttons, a scroll wheel, and a small joystick for your thumb. It also had memory built into it.

Writings

Beale writes under the name Vox Day. This name sounds like the Latin words "Vox Dei," which mean "the voice of God." He first used this name when writing for Computer Gaming World magazine in 1995.

He later used the name for a weekly video game review column. He also used it for an opinion column in WorldNetDaily.

In 2000, Beale published his first novel, The War in Heaven. This was the first book in a fantasy series called The Eternal Warriors. The story is about good and evil among angels.

Beale was a judge for the Nebula Award Novel in 2004.

In 2008, he published The Irrational Atheist: Dissecting the Unholy Trinity of Dawkins, Harris, and Hitchens. This book looked at arguments made by atheist writers like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens.
