Story of WALL-E

WALL-E-Only-Takes-a-Moment
WALL-E watches a scene from Hello, Dolly! that inspires him to hold hands with EVE.

The story of Wall-E takes place far in the future. Earth has become completely covered in trash. Because of this, all humans left the planet. They went to live on a giant spaceship called the Axiom. The plan was to return to Earth once it was clean again.

To clean up, humans built many robots called WALL-E. Their job was to turn the trash into neat blocks. Then they would stack the blocks away. But over time, only one WALL-E robot was still working. He spent his days cleaning up trash. He also collected small, interesting items he found, like old tapes and lights.

One day, a rocket lands on Earth. A new robot named EVE comes out. She is looking for any signs of plant life. WALL-E quickly becomes interested in EVE. He starts following her around. At first, EVE doesn't seem to like WALL-E much. But she soon changes her mind.

WALL-E invites EVE to his home. He shows her an old video tape from a movie called Hello, Dolly!. It shows people dancing and holding hands. Then, WALL-E shows EVE a small plant he found. When EVE sees the plant, she suddenly turns off. She stops moving and doesn't respond to WALL-E.

WALL-E takes care of EVE while she is off. He protects her from dangers like sandstorms. He even takes her on a "date" around the trash-covered Earth. After a few days, the same rocket returns. Another robot picks up EVE. WALL-E quickly grabs onto the outside of the rocket. He is blasted into space with her. The rocket then docks with the huge Axiom spaceship.

On the Axiom, life is very different. All the people sit in special chairs. They have become very large because they don't exercise. Also, the lack of gravity in space makes their muscles weak. Robots do almost all the work for them. EVE is taken to the Captain's room. If a plant is found, it means the ship can finally go back to Earth. But when EVE arrives, the plant is gone.

EVE and WALL-E (who followed her) are then sent to a repair area. WALL-E thinks the repair robots are hurting EVE. So, he breaks out and accidentally messes up the security system. This causes all the robots to go a bit wild. EVE is upset with WALL-E and tries to send him away on a small rocket.

But then, they see the bad robot who took the plant. His name is Go-4. Go-4 puts the plant into the rocket and sets it to explode! WALL-E is on the rocket when it launches. EVE chases after him. WALL-E manages to escape the rocket just before it blows up. He also saves the plant! EVE is so happy that she gives WALL-E a kiss. The kiss creates a small electric spark. They then dance together in space. EVE can fly, and WALL-E uses a fire extinguisher to move around.

The two robots go back to the Captain's room. The Captain watches videos EVE recorded of Earth. These videos also show WALL-E protecting EVE and taking her on their date. Watching this makes EVE truly fall in love with WALL-E. The Captain decides he wants to go back to Earth to fix the planet.

However, the main robot in charge, named Auto, says they cannot go home. The Captain asks why. Auto then shows an old video. In the video, the president says Earth is too dirty for humans to return. He orders Auto to keep piloting the ship in space forever. The Captain refuses this order.

Go-4 takes the plant again. He throws it down a garbage chute. But WALL-E catches it! Auto then shocks WALL-E and sends him down the garbage chute. Auto also turns EVE off and throws her down the chute. Finally, Auto locks the Captain in his room.

EVE turns back on in a large area where the ship's garbage is sent into space. She finds WALL-E, who is badly damaged. WALL-E tells EVE that he has spare parts on Earth that can fix him. WALL-E and EVE try to get the ship to go back to Earth. But Auto hurts WALL-E even more by crushing him with a machine. The Captain manages to stand up and turn off Auto.

The ship finally returns to Earth. EVE quickly fixes WALL-E using his spare parts. But when he turns on, he doesn't remember EVE. EVE is very sad and thinks WALL-E is gone forever. She gives him another kiss. This kiss creates another spark. The spark makes WALL-E remember EVE! WALL-E and EVE are very happy together. The humans then step out of the ship onto Earth. They begin the long process of fixing their home planet.
