Justin Wakeland High School is a public high school in Frisco, Texas. It is part of the Frisco Independent School District. The school opened its doors on August 14, 2006.
Wakeland High School is known as a '5A' school. This classification comes from the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The UIL helps organize sports and other activities for schools in Texas. Most students joining Wakeland come from Griffin Middle School and Cobb Middle School. In 2015, the Texas Education Agency gave the school a 'Met Standard' rating. This means it met the state's goals for education.

Why the Name Wakeland High School?
The school was first going to be called Legacy High School. But during its construction, the name was changed. It was named after Justin Wakeland. He was the superintendent of the Frisco Independent School District for 19 years. He worked there from 1978 to 1997.
Sports and Arts at Wakeland
Wakeland High School has many successful sports teams and arts programs. Their teams are called the Wolverines.
