Walid Badir (born March 12, 1974) is a former professional football player from Israel. He played as a midfielder, which means he played in the middle of the field.
Walid Badir won four league titles with Maccabi Haifa. Later, he joined Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2005. He became the captain of Hapoel Tel Aviv and won another league title with them. He stopped playing football in 2013. Badir also played for the Israeli national team. He scored 12 goals in 74 games between 1997 and 2007.

Time at Wimbledon
In 1999, Walid Badir moved to England to play for Wimbledon. He scored one goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford. However, he only played in 21 games for the club and did not stay for long.
Success with Maccabi Haifa
In 2000, Badir returned to Israel and joined Maccabi Haifa. This was at the start of a successful period for the team under coach Avram Grant. With Badir on the team, Maccabi Haifa won four league championships. They were a very strong team during these years.
Becoming a Leader at Hapoel Tel Aviv
In 2005, Badir signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv. He quickly became a key player for them. In the 2005–06 season, Hapoel Tel Aviv finished second in the league and won the State Cup. Badir was made the team's captain and remained captain until he retired.
On August 26, 2013, Walid Badir played his last game for Hapoel Tel Aviv at Bloomfield Stadium. The club and its fans gave him a big thank you and a standing ovation to honor his career.
Playing for His Country
Walid Badir played 74 games for the Israeli national team. He scored 12 goals for his country. His first game was on August 5, 1997, in a friendly match against Belarus.
One of his most memorable goals was in a 2006 World Cup qualifying match against France. He scored in the 83rd minute, helping Israel get a draw against the strong French team.
Coaching Role
After retiring as a player, Walid Badir started a coaching career. On November 17, 2012, he was appointed as a caretaker manager for Hapoel Tel Aviv. He later became an assistant manager for the club.
