Wallace Falls State Park is a super cool place to visit in Washington State. It's a big park, covering about 1,380 acres. That's like 1,000 football fields! It's located in Snohomish County, right next to the Wallace River.

You can find this state park on the west side of the amazing Cascade Mountains. The main entrance is about 1 mile northeast of a town called Gold Bar. The park is famous for its three beautiful waterfalls. It also has pretty lakes, old forests with huge trees, and fast-flowing rivers. You can even see old signs of its logging past, like parts of old railroad tracks.

Park History

The name "Wallace" comes from Joe and Sarah Kwayaylsh. They were members of the Skykomish tribe. They were the first people to settle in this area.

The park officially started in 1971. This was when the state bought the land. They bought it from a big company called the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company.

Amazing Waterfalls

Wallace Falls State Park is home to three main waterfalls. Each one is unique and beautiful to see.

Upper Wallace Falls

The Upper Wallace Falls drops about 240 feet. It falls in five different sections. You can't see the whole waterfall at once. But the parts you can see are still very impressive.

Middle Wallace Falls

The Middle Wallace Falls is the most famous part of the park. It's about 367 feet tall in total. This waterfall drops in three big sections. The largest part of it falls 265 feet! You can even see this huge drop from the Skykomish Valley.

Lower Wallace Falls

The Lower Wallace Falls is also a sight to behold. It drops about 212 feet. This waterfall also falls in five separate tiers. It's a great spot to enjoy the power of nature.

Hiking and Biking Trails

The park has about 12 miles of hiking trails. These trails let you explore the forests and see the waterfalls up close. There are also about 5 miles of trails perfect for biking.

Camping and Cabins

If you want to stay longer, the park has a campground. You can set up your tent and enjoy the outdoors. There are also cabins available. These are a great option if you prefer a cozy place to sleep.
