Walter is a small place in Cullman County, Alabama, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county. Walter is located on Alabama State Route 91, which is about 7.2 miles (11.6 kilometers) northeast of a town called Hanceville.
History of Walter
The community of Walter got its name from the son of its very first postmaster. A postmaster was the person in charge of a local post office. This post office in Walter was open and serving the community from the year 1888 until 1905.
