Walter Aston, 9th Lord Aston of Forfar (born September 15, 1769 – died January 21, 1845) was an important person in his time. He was the son of Walter Aston, 8th Lord Aston of Forfar, and Anne Hutchinson. He became a priest in the Church of England and served as a church leader, known as a Vicar, in places like Tardebigge, Worcestershire, and Tamworth, Warwickshire.

Who Was Walter Aston?

Walter Aston was born in 1769. He grew up to become a respected member of society. His father held a special noble title, and Walter would later take on this role himself.

His Life as a Church Leader

Walter Aston chose a path in the church. He became a priest in the Church of England. This meant he dedicated his life to serving his community through faith. He worked as a Vicar, which is a type of church leader, in two different towns: Tardebigge and Tamworth.

Becoming Lord Aston

In 1802, Walter Aston married Elizabeth Haines. Her father was also a Reverend, a church leader. Walter and Elizabeth did not have any children.

A few years later, in 1805, Walter Aston became the next holder of his family's noble title, Lord Aston of Forfar. This was a special title in the peerage of Scotland, which is a system of noble ranks. Even though he used the title and it was recognized locally, he made a formal request in 1819 to be officially confirmed as Baron Aston of Forfar. However, no final decision was ever made about his request.

The End of a Title

Elizabeth, Walter's wife, passed away in 1833. Walter Aston himself died on January 21, 1845. Since he had no children, the title of Lord Aston of Forfar ended with him. It meant that there was no one to inherit the title, and so it became extinct.
